Breakfast at the hotel . Drive to Bergama . Visit the ruins of Asclepion (the ancient medical complex, hospital ) that is comprehended that Asklepion, built in the name ofAesculapius, the god of Health and Medicine, has existed since the 4th century BC. Saint Polycarp was converted by John the Apostle and became the Bishop of Smyrna . The drive to Sardis as one of the Seven churches of Asia, it was addressed by John, the author of the Book of Revelation in theHoly Bible, in terms which seem to imply that its population was notoriously soft and fainthearted. Then continue to Philadelphia – although several ancient cities bore the name of Philadelphia, this is definitely the one listed among the seven churches by John in the Book of Revelation . 5º Day | Pamukkale / Hierapolis / Laodicea / Kusadasi (Breakfast ,Lunch, Dinner)
Breakfast at the hotel . Visit Pamukkale meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey. The city contains hot springs and travertines, terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water. It is located in Turkey’s Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley, which has a temperate climate for most of the year. Then visit was an ancient city of Hierapolis that is located on hot springs in classical Phrygia in southwestern Anatolia. Its ruins are adjacent to modern Pamukkale in Turkey and currently comprise an archaeological museum designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon continue to Laodicea that was a magnificent ancient city built on the river Lycus (Çürüksu). It was located in the Hellenistic regions of Caria and Lydia, which later became the Roman Province of Phrygia Pacatiana. It is now situated near the modern city of Denizli.It contained one of the Seven churches of Asia mentioned in the Book of Revelation.Drive to Kusadasi .Check in to the hotel . 6º Day | Kusadasi / Ephesus / Istanbul (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Breakfast . Drive to Ephesus that was an ancient Greekcity on the coast of Ionia, three kilometres southwest of present-day Selçuk in İzmir Province, Turkey. It was built in the 10th century BC on the site of the former Arzawan capital by Attic and Ionian Greek colonists. The city was famed for the Temple of Artemis (completed around 550 BC), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Ephesus was one of the seven churches of Asia that are cited in the Book of Revelation. The Gospel of John may have been written here . Visit the cave church of St.Peter, the oldest church in the world that is believed by some that the founding of the church in Antioch can be traced to the Bible’s Acts of the Apostles (11:25-27) where it is related that Barnabas travelled to Tarsus to bring Paul the Apostle there.Christian tradition considers Peter, the first Apostle, as the founder of the church of Antioch, and the first priest of the Christian population that was established there.After lunch visit the world second bigget Mosaic Museum which reflects the grandeur of Roman Antioch, one of the four great cities of Roman Empire . 4º Day | Antakya / Tarsus / Cappadocia (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner)
After the breakfast at the hotel drive to Tarsus, visit the birthplace of St.Paul and drink from the well of the blessed water. Continue to Cappadocia. Lunch will be served en route . Early in the morning, optional Hot Air balloon ride over the magnificent landscape of CAPPADOCIA.
After the breakfast, depart for a full day city tour of Cappadocia . After the breakfast at the hotel depart for Konya. En route , visit the caravanseray of Sultanhan, Anatolia’s largest staging post for merchants on the Silk Road. Upon arrival to Konya, the capital of the Anatolian Seljuk Empire, visit the Museum of Mevlana, the theosophic philosopher. Lunch will be served at local restaurant . After lunch proceed to Pamukkale, famous for its “cotton castle”, a dazzling chalk-white array and fantastically shaped limestone terraces. Anne Catherine Emmerich was Beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 3, 2004.It is believed that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taken to this stone house by Saint John and lived there until her Assumption (according to Catholic doctrine) or Dormition (according to Orthodox belief) .
